Linitzer - the South of France - 18 September, 2022
Join us on our next tour to the South of France!
The region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, on the South-western coast of France, is famous for its quality of life, good food and extraordinary natural landscapes. The French Riviera (la Côte d'Azur) is well-known for its beautiful beaches and the luxurious cities of St Tropez, Cannes and Nice. Just along the coast, Provence offers up beautiful landscapes, sights, colors and smells which have inspired artists from Van Gogh to Cezanne and Picasso. Food markets, vineyards, natural parks, lavender fields, olive trees and sleepy mountain villages fill up the region. The beginning of the Alps mean that the region isn’t just famous for the coastal lifestyle, but also the rich mountain culture and the outdoor activities that come with it. Finally, Marseille is a rebellious, north-African-influenced port city famous for its fish soups, aniseed liquor pastis and games of petanque. The good food, the good weather, the slowed-down pace of life and the Southern sense of humor are a stark contrast to the pace and quality of life elsewhere in France. In this tour, we will explore art history, food and culture and look at the Côte d'Azur, Provence and Marseille.
