Chosen for the fourth consecutive year as Europe’s Best Destination in 2020, Portugal has been until some years ago the hidden gem of the continent to the Atlantic. A charming country with much to discover, from the beautiful Porto in the North —in fact, the cradle of the nation— to its cosmopolitan capital Lisbon by the Tagus river, metropolis of the former Portuguese Empire. Heading to the South we’ll learn about its Roman origins at Évora, historic capital of the Alentejo region; and finally, we’ll discover the Algarve, biggest and most important Portuguese holiday destination with wonderful beaches. Beyond history and sights we’ll also enjoy delicious gastronomy and cultural traditions such as the nostalgic Fado music.
